"My wife grew up in Brooklyn (flatbush) and when she saw the peice on the Foodnetwork we had to have it. We purchased the rice balls, broccoli rabe sausage ring, Pepper and onion links, cheese and parsley ring and pork and beef Bracciole.We were in heaven the wife made a pot of sauce and had the braccioles.Outstanding food thank you!!"

"Dear Mr. Landi: Last night we sent our second order to you for entrees and this time we added some pot pies as well. I just wanted to take the time to tell you how much we enjoyed everything from the first order we received. I first saw your store on Road Tasted and decided to give it a try. First of all I was shocked at how reasonable the prices were. In fact to be honest we hesitated before actually ordering because we thought since the price for the entrees was so low, the food was probably not going to be all that great. WOW were we surprised. This isn't restaurant or deli food -- it's family food. It's the kind of meal my grown children expect to get at my table -- Mama's home cooking. There isn't one single thing we ordered that we didn't fall in love with. In fact, just last night we were actually fighting over the last container of chicken parmesan. The ingredients were all fresh and wholesome. You could tell that this was not just manufactured or processed food, the key ingredient was love. You could taste the love that went into the preparation. It also needs to be said that I telephoned the store in December to ask how many people one entrée could feed. I wish I could remember who I talked to so I could let you know how wonderful that man was on the phone. He talked to me as if we'd known each other for years. He was helpful and very colorful...haha I just fell in love with his thick Italian and New York accent! He made me laugh and smile and when I got off the phone I felt as if I'd been talking to a friend. All in all, my experience so far with your store has been a positive and happy one. I just thought I would say, "thank you" and that I'm so happy the Deen boys introduced the Landi's Pork Store family to mine! I wish you and your family a very happy new year filled with blessings, joy, prosperity, good health and most of all...love! "

Do you find yourself in Canarsie or the Flatlands of Brooklyn looking for pounds of freshly made sausage? We’ve got just the place to find it: Landi’s pork store, a neighborhood fixture since 1928.

From the sidewalk on Avenue N, you can look through the front windows and see beautiful sausages being made at spanking-clean silver machines; and once you step inside, you are in Italian-food heaven. Foremost among the delights on display atop the butcher’s cases are pyramids of Landi’s own soppresatta, which is the hard, garlicky salami that is essential for any serious antipasto tray. Also arrayed atop the glass are rows of fresh mozzarella – pure white, creamy rounds just begging to be sliced thin or grated for the top of a homemade pizza. Of course, the inventory also includes cappicollo, proscuitto, mortadella, and various pepperonis.

We came home with all kinds of Landi’s sausage – hot, sweet, fennel, cheese-and-parsley filled – as well as pints and quarts of spaghetti sauce in varieties that included fresh tomato and basil, white clam, marinara, and Bolognese. And there are cases full of Italian cheeses, shelves of bread, olives, peppers, etc., etc.

Landi’s is a grocery – a pork store to be precise – and there is no place here to eat. Note, however, that Landi’s does cater and has a full menu of party sandwiches and specialty heroes from two to six feet long, hot buffet items that include bowtie noodles with broccoli rabe and rigatoni with proscuitto sauce, and cold antipasto trays for eaters by the dozen.

Fresh meats, good takeout!
This store is very clean and has beautiful meats. They have a prepared food counter with a huge selection of specialities, ranging from ribs, to salads, pasta dishes and more. Speciality Italian products such as imported pastas and oils abound. The spinach balls and tuna salad are especially good. They make an excellent London Broil a few times a week which is in an oriental marinade. A bit pricey, but worth it.
